It really depends on what you consider "internet dating". I understand the use of the internet to meet new people. I think it's acceptable to meet someone online through a community or other ste and meet up for a social event be it drinks, sporting event, whatever. Although I have no experience with dating someone I met online I have become friends with several people I've met online and hang out with in the real world.
