Why did he have to get all up in my shit and wreck a great sexual relationship?

I was with a guy for almost 8 years, on and off. We had really awesome sex, but he was always up in my shit... telling me what to do with my finances and my kids. Interestingly enough, now that I finally broke it off, he posted up on Craigslist that he is looking "for a woman who will be content with a casual relationship" saying that he "just got out of a bad situation" !!! I seriously DO NOT get it! If he would have just backed off on ruling my life every minute of the day, I would have been perfectly happy with a "casual relationship". I told him many times that we just needed to give each other some space, but he insisted on prying into every single part of my life and ragging about my kids non-stop. I just don't get it! Whatever!
